Gevo, Inc. Iowa Dairy Biogas

Doon, Iowa

“I’d gladly use Reynolds again for another Gevo project and I would recommend them for companies doing a project like this.”

Project Description

Reynolds Construction provided EPC services for the fast-track delivery of this approximate 1,000 MMBTU/day or 355,000 MMBtu/year Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facility located in northwest Iowa. Situated on the Rock River Jerseys, Meadowvale, and Winding Meadows Dairies, and one gas upgrading (RNG) facility, all projects were located in Sioux and Lyons counties in the vicinity of Rock Valley, Iowa. Anerobic Digesters are located at each of the three dairies to process the manure substrate. The dimensions of the concrete digesters located at the Rock River and Meadowvale dairies are approximately 220’ x 270’ x 16 feet deep. The digester footprint at Winding Meadows was approximately 1/3 of the others, but also 16 feet deep. Gas produced at each dairy is transported via pipeline to the RNG facility, scrubbed, and injected directly into the Natural Gas distribution pipeline, which runs adjacent to the RNG.
