INDIANA AMERICAN WATER SHERIDAN WW SYSTEM

Sheridan, Indiana

Project Description

This project consisted of new additions and modifications to eliminate influent sewer overflows and increase capacity for future area growth.   Primary new features included the demolition of the existing concrete digester, and installation of new headworks consisting of a new 60” interceptor manhole. A new raw sewage lift station, headworks screening area, new concrete splitter box, new Biolac Lagoon, and refurbishment of existing Biolac Lagoon were included. A new 65’ secondary clarifier was added, as well as a new chlorine contact tank, a new RAS/WAS Wet Well/Lift Station, and interconnecting U/G Piping. A new disinfection system utilizing chlorine gas and bisulfate feed systems were added along with a blower with new aeration system. There were ferric system upgrades and a total I&C SCADA system.  Existing plant piping and buried utilities made the new U/G Piping difficult to install and required extensive coordination with plant personnel to maintain operations.
