City of Rushville Utility Extension

Rushville, Indiana

Project Description

Due to Diamond Pet Food expanding their operations to include building an industrial facility along Indiana State Road 3, along with the potential of a tractor dealership moving to the area, the City of Rushville contracted with Reynolds to provide the necessary infrastructure to accommodate the additional water and wastewater needs. The City has committed to extend the water and sanitary sewer service to the site.  Due to the acceleration of the construction schedule for Diamond, the City’s contract with Reynolds included a financing solution, using the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) project delivery method. The construction and financing agreements were authorized in September 2022. This BOT project was designed by HWC Engineering and funded by Bonds and READI grants.

Water – The required infrastructure includes a booster station, a 12-inch water main extension and a new elevated water tank to maintain pressure and adequate flows for a new industry building a production facility in town.  The booster station is planned to provide the required water pressure requested for the Diamond Pet Food project, future development up to CR 300N, the Commerce Park and the Intat facility. Therefore, the water scope of services for this project will include the design and installation of the required 12-inch main extension and the booster station.

Wastewater – The base project includes the new lift station at the Diamond Pet Food site, a gravity sewer to CR 300N, and the force main to the existing gravity sewers.
